Spectrum internet plans are good for general residential customers looking for basic internet with no data caps, or for customers who need TV, phone, and internet for the best price. The Spectrum internet packages include:

Standard-speed Spectrum internet is good for the everyday user who may use their internet for basic streaming or supplying internet to a few devices. However, customers with greater needs for something like gaming or home-based business should opt for the higher-speed service packages.
All Spectrum internet plans come with the caveat that internet speeds may vary, no matter which plan you choose. Additionally, Spectrum plans are contract-free, which means you can cancel at any time without the worry of being charged a fee.
Key considerations
One thing to keep in mind about Spectrum internet services is the fact that prices are not locked in. Rates for different packages can change after 12 months of service. If you don’t go for self-install, you may also face installation fees to get the services started. Equipment, such as a Spectrum Wifi router, may also come with an additional charge unless you sign up for services during a promotional period that involves a free router.

Spectrum internet services actually rank relatively high on customer satisfaction surveys. The overall customer satisfaction index ranking across all regions from J.D. Power was between 676 and 725 out of 1,000 in 2021. As far as in-home Wifi quality, Spectrum internet reviews are mostly positive. Charter Communications’ Spectrum received a quality score of 69 out of 100 for in-home Wifi quality, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index.
How does Spectrum internet compare to other providers?
One of Spectrum’s primary competitors is Xfinity, which is also a cable internet supplier and is available in most states across the country. While Xfinity plans tend to run slightly cheaper than Spectrum, Xfinity also doesn’t offer unlimited data use without an additional monthly fee.
Another major competitor in some areas is AT&T Internet, which is fiber internet with faster speeds than cable and possibly more reliable speeds.
