Who is Buckeye Broadband internet for?
Buckeye Broadband is an option for individuals looking for an alternate service beyond some of the larger ISPs. Both residential customers with the most basic internet needs and customers that rely on the internet for working from home should be able to find a suitable plan to fit their budget. The ISP currently offers:
- Starter Internet with up to 25Mbps download speed starting at $19.99/month
- Essential Internet with up to 100Mbps download speed starting at $39.99/month
- Ultimate Internet with up to 200Mbps download speed starting at $59.99/month
- Supreme Internet with up to 400Mbps download speed starting at $99.99/month
- Fiber Internet with up to 1000Mbps download/upload speed starting at $109.99/month
Starter internet through Buckeye is for basic or occasional internet access. Essential is an option for streaming or connecting only a few devices. Ultimate and Supreme Internet are for gamers and telecommuters. For households with numerous connected devices and a need for symmetrical upload and download speeds, Fiber Internet is the service package to consider. Buckeye states their Fiber Internet plan can support 20 devices or more at one time.
Key considerations
Some of Buckeye Broadband’s internet packages are unlimited with no data caps. Other packages only offer unlimited data during an introductory period. For example, Fast Internet comes with six months of unlimited data, while Fiber Internet always comes with unlimited data.
Buckeye Broadband does require a service contract when you first sign up for its services. The contract duration can vary from 6 to 36 months depending on the specific services chosen. Usually, the company offers promotional benefits like savings opportunities for new customers, but take note that these benefits may expire at the end of the contract. Also, if you terminate services before the end of the contract, you may be subject to an early termination fee.
What others say about Buckeye Broadband internet
Buckeye Broadband is a relatively small company compared to other ISPs, with services available in only Ohio and Michigan. Therefore, the company does not currently appear on most of the standard ISP-ranking sites. For further insight, customer-provided comments and complaints are available regarding Buckeye Broadband’s services on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website.
Reviews for Buckeye are not the best, with one of the top complaints being unreliable speeds. However, some positives are that Buckeye Broadband offers affordable promotional pricing for lower-tier plans, responsive technical support, and a diverse lineup of service options. The company also has four physical storefronts in Ohio as well, which can be convenient if you need to talk with a representative, or get or change equipment.
How does Buckeye Broadband internet compare to other providers?
Buckeye Broadband does not have a lot of major competitors because in quite a few locations, Buckeye is the only available option when it comes to internet service. Nevertheless, in comparison to other providers, pricing for Buckeye Broadband’s internet packages is comparable to some of the larger ISPs that also have coverage in Ohio and Michigan.
