Meet Updater: Laura Dalton, Success Manager
Believing in and working for the success of Updater comes easy when you’re Success Manager, Laura Dalton. Even with eight moves under her belt, Laura has managed to avoid all types of moving horror stories – talk about managing success! With that, she has some great moving tips and tricks, and some favorite Updater features that play a key role in any move.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Connecticut.
How many times have you moved?
Eight times.
Do you have a moving horror story?
Thankfully, no!
What’s your best piece of moving advice?
Unless you enjoy panic attacks, gray hairs, and sleepless nights, plan everything far in advance!
You’re about to move. What would you make sure to never do again?
I would strongly advise against borrowing the muscles of your friends and family members to move your heaviest belongings. You won’t realize how difficult these moves are until you’re stuck carrying couches through a narrow, winding staircase that the couch doesn’t want to fit through. So, save your backs and leave it to the experts!
What are two personal tidbits about you?
I’m always down to do anything outdoors. I also enjoy drawing from time to time.
What are four things you can’t live without?
Family, friends, campfires, and country music.
What’s the largest item you’ve ever had to carry on the subway?
My purse! (I don’t live in the city)
It’s the zombie apocalypse. Where do you hide?
Nope, nope, nope. A zombie apocalypse isn’t happening, so there’s no need to plan a hiding spot. I’d rather plan a vacation spot. 🙂
What’s the first app you check in the morning?
The Weather Channel app.
If you were a food, what kind would you be? Why?
Brussel sprouts, most people don’t like them right? I’d prefer not to be eaten.
You can only eat one food for the rest of your life. What is it?
Pizza, obviously!
If you could travel to work every day on a vehicle without wheels (think: hovercraft, broom), what would you choose?
A broom! How fun would that be?!
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A professional tennis player. It didn’t exactly go as planned.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Updater?
My favorite thing about working at Updater is the culture! Everyone is unbelievably driven and passionate about the success of the product.
