You already know that Updater is an awesome tool to offer your clients, but how can you use it to most effectively maximize your ROI? This week, we’re talking about just that – how to leverage Updater as a tool to grow and improve your business.
How can I use Updater to sign new clients?
When pitching a client, make sure to mention that you offer Updater in your listing presentations. We suggest creating a presentation package that includes everything you have to offer, highlighting what sets you apart from other real estate professionals. If you already have a presentation package, add a slide that introduces Updater and explains why you offer it to your clients – you understand that moving is a hassle, which is why you’ve invested in technology to help your clients save time, right when they need it the most!
You could even go a step further and promote the fact that you use Updater on your blog, website, or social media pages. That way, not only will your current clients see that you offer Updater, but potential clients who are checking out your website will, too.

When is the best time to check in with my clients about Updater?
There are a couple of different times that we suggest reaching out to your clients in regards to their interaction with Updater. We recommend sending your clients a “heads up” email, reminding them that they’ll receive an invitation to use Updater, a few days before they are scheduled to receive their invitation.
We also recommend picking up the phone or sending a follow-up email after your client has received their Updater invitation. You’ll be able to tell whether or not they’ve created an account within your Updater Dashboard. Customize your message based on their status! Have they created an account? If so, give them a call to see how it’s going. If they haven’t created an account, feel free to check in and make sure they saw the invite. (Our clients who do so typically see the most success with Updater). While you certainly don’t want to bombard your clients with emails, it’s a unique touchpoint to show that you’re interested in making their move as easy as possible!
How can I use Updater to generate referrals from my current clients?
For starters, don’t be afraid to ask for referrals! Once your clients start using Updater, go the extra mile and check up on them. Ask them how their experience has been with Updater and if there is anything additional that you can help them with during their move. It’ll show your clients that you truly care about their moving experience, and it’s a great time to ask for those referrals!
