Updater achieves SOC 2 Type 2 examination for security

Security and trust are foundational to how Updater operates and how we support our partners. Today, we’re sharing an important milestone: Updater has successfully completed a SOC 2 Type 2 examination* for the security Trust Services category.
Built for scale, designed for trust
Updater sits at the center of a complex ecosystem of partners, providers, and services across various industries. That role comes with responsibility.
We’ve invested in building durable, secure infrastructure that integrates seamlessly into our partners’ existing workflows. This examination reflects the maturity of those systems and the processes behind them.
What this means for our partners
SOC 2 Type 2 examinations are widely recognized as a rigorous, standardized way to evaluate how service organizations safeguard systems and data over time.
With this milestone, Updater is better positioned to support partner security reviews and procurement processes. In many cases, our SOC 2 Type 2 report can help answer detailed security questionnaires and streamline conversations with internal security and compliance teams.
Put simply: this is one less hurdle for our partners to get up and running with Updater.
A closer look at SOC 2 Type 2
A SOC 2 examination is an independent attestation performed by a licensed CPA firm, designed to evaluate controls relevant to system security and related criteria.
A Type 2 examination goes a step further than a point-in-time review. It assesses not only whether controls are appropriately designed, but also whether they operated effectively over a defined period.
Updater’s examination specifically covered the Security Trust Services category, which focuses on protecting systems and information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or damage.
What’s next
Security is not a one-time milestone – it’s an ongoing commitment. Updater intends to continue undergoing SOC 2 Type 2 examinations as part of our broader approach to maintaining high standards for security and operational integrity.
