Do I need to register my vehicle?

Yes.

Where can I register my vehicle?

You’ll need to visit the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in person. Sorry to say, but services are not available online.

What will I need?

  • Your vehicle title
  • Proof of Identification
  • A valid title for the vehicle(s) you want to register, issued in your name from your previous state
  • A tracing of the vehicle identification number (VIN) or the verification of the VIN by an inspection mechanic or notary public at a dealership or issuing agent
  • Appropriate title, lien, registration fees and sales tax (if applicable)
  • If you are titling and registering a leased vehicle, the leasing company will also be required to complete an MV-1L form.

When do I need to register my vehicle?
