Who is Cox TV for?
Cox TV offers three packages at different price points, and all bundle television or video content with internet access and voice. While prices may seem high at first glance, you do get a lot for your money.
The Cox TV Starter Bundle at $74.99/month is perfect for individuals using just one or two internet devices. It comes with 75 channels and free high-definition (HD) programming. You also get an Internet Essential package with 50Mbps download and 3Mbps upload. All packages have a Cox Voice Premier feature that gives you unlimited nationwide calling with 14 digital calling features. If you are a gamer or someone running heavy programs on your devices though, you might want to upgrade to the Cox Silver bundle.
The Cox Silver Bundle at $109.99/month is the ideal package for small families and gamers or people using multiple internet-enabled devices. The bundle upgrades you to the Cox Contour service with 140 channels and free HD programming. You get an Ultimate Internet feature with 500Mbps download and 10Mbps upload, along with Cox Voice Premier. This plan gives you five times the downstream bandwidth compared to the starter bundle with very little price increase.
If you are looking to get the most channels possible with your subscription, then you can upgrade to the Cox Gold bundle at 129.99/month. The Cox Gold bundle gives you Cox Contour TV Ultimate with 250 channels and free HD programming. It also comes with the same Ultimate Internet package as the Silver bundle and includes the Cox Voice Premier feature.*
Key considerations
So, is Cox TV worth the investment? Some of the more important features to keep in mind before making a final decision include:
Price increases
Although Cox TV falls on the more expensive side of the spectrum, you won’t be hit with a surprise price increase for the first two-year contract term. After your contract ends, you may see prices go up, but not by much.
Additional costs
Cox cable packages come with standard fees like a broadcast surcharge and regional sports surcharge. Depending on which package you choose, you may incur extra costs like Cox digital video recorder (DVR) service fees and set-top box fees.
Installation
Setting up your Cox TV is as simple as connecting your television to your Cox receiver. For Cox Contour, you’ll also receive log-in credentials to access the app on your mobile gadgets or laptops.
What others say about Cox TV
One of the best ways to know if Cox TV is right for you is to review expert opinions about the company’s services.
The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) gives Cox TV a rating of 62 out of 100, which is slightly below average for subscription TV providers. Cox has held Better Business Bureau (BBB) accreditation for almost forty years and has earned an A+ BBB rating.
How does Cox TV compare to other providers?
