August at Updater: Conferences, Farewells, and an Amazing Beach Day
Wow, has summer flown by! This month, Updater soaked in every last bit of the season with conferences, an incredible beach day, and a fond farewell. Read on to catch up on August’s successes, events, and roller coaster rides.
We Attended a Few Events
This month, members of our team — Chris Avery and Greg Hicks — spent a weekend in Washington, DC at the 2018 RE/MAX Broker Owner Conference. It was a great first show for Updater after the announcement of our approved supplier relationship with RE/MAX. With over 1,200 people in attendance, Chris and Greg spent their time catching up with clients while receiving exceptional feedback on Updater. Needless to say, plenty of traffic was driven to the Updater booth!
Later in the month, members of our team — Andrea Barone and Ashley Jucha — headed to Charleston, SC for the Carolina One Real Estate Tradeshow. Hosted at the Charleston Convention Center, the conference was centered around marketing and technology trends in the real estate industry. Of course, Updater’s real estate technology was a perfect fit for this tradeshow. The team had a productive, and enjoyable time, chatting about Updater and meeting with clients.
We Went to Coney Island for an Epic Beach Day!
To celebrate the end of a successful and exciting summer, the Updater team spent a day soaking in the sun at nearby Coney Island. Thrill-seekers took some amazing photos while riding roller coasters, while others enjoyed sea life at the aquarium. We ended the day refreshed, a little tan (or maybe a little red), and ready to finish the quarter strong.
We said Farewell to Our Summer Interns
It’s always bittersweet to end the summer by saying farewell to a class of interns. We said “Thank You” to our amazing interns with a breakfast featuring plenty of avocado toast and time to reflect on their favorite memories and future goals. Thank you, Kelly (off to Scotland for a semester abroad) and Naomi (back to Miami to train for the Olympics), we’re so grateful for your hard work. Haley and Liz, we’re excited to have you join us again as interns this fall! We’re also looking forward to welcoming two new interns for the fall semester, Dawn and Paige.
We’re Settling into Our New Home
The Updater team has been happily settling into our recently expanded office. Featuring an awesome mural, an abundance of succulents, and spacious conference rooms. We loved working together on the sixth floor. Check out some photos from our first month below!
