Updater Hires Former Facebook, Postmates Executive Jennifer Mitchell as VP of Talent
We are thrilled to announce that we have appointed former Facebook, Inc. and Postmates Inc. talent acquisition professional Jennifer Mitchell as Vice President of Talent. In this newly created role, Mitchell will build out Updater’s internal recruiting team to bolster the company’s continued growth while implementing operational efficiencies and maintaining Updater’s unique and inclusive culture. Further, she will focus on incorporating cutting-edge best practices across the organization while helping Updater’s more than 150 and growing team members reach the next stages of their careers. Mitchell will report to Senior Vice President of People, Lindsey Dole.

Mitchell brings to Updater more than 20 years of experience in people operations and talent acquisition. Prior to her role at Updater, she worked for a number of high-profile organizations including Fossil Group, Inc.; Southwest Airlines Co.; Match.com; Facebook, Inc.; BigCommerce; Postmates Inc.; and Sentry. Mitchell specializes in mentoring and growing teams with a particular focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), as well as rapid and thoughtful scaling.

Mitchell’s hire follows our recent appointment of a deep bench of veteran design leaders. Together with Chief Product Officer Josh Abrams, design directors Elaine Meese, Ulrik Hogrebe, and Leigh Cohen are helping Updater lay the foundation for a human-centric approach that turns some of moving’s toughest challenges into significant opportunities for innovation. Chief Marketing Officer Jeffrey Gerson, a former Instagram executive, also joined the company earlier this year.
