How has your internship at Updater been different from other internships?

As an intern at Updater, you are a valued member of the team trusted to do “real” work that contributes to the company in a meaningful way. Because Updater is small, you also have the unique opportunity to get to know every team and individual at the company, including the CEO!

What was your internship project and what did you learn?

I had two big projects while at Updater. First, I created the first ever MoveHQ email drip campaign to be sent out to potential users. The second was to build our first ever moving calculator tool and write an accompanying blog post. I learned that there is a special science behind writing for email marketing and a lot that goes into SEO optimization.

What will you miss most about Updater?

The people and the culture. Everyone here is not only incredibly smart, but they also truly believe in what they are doing. And they know how to have fun and create a wonderful environment in which to learn and work. That is something that is rare to find at any company, and something that I have come to really appreciate about working here.

What is your advice to the Updater interns of the future?

Be hungry! There is so much to learn here. Make the most of your time here by meeting with as many people from as many different teams as possible, going to as many team outings and events as you can, and always looking out for where you can add value.
