Who is C Spire internet for?
Although C Spire fiber internet offers only one plan option of up to 940Mbps (download AND upload), it’s easy to see how this option can be a great fit for many types of households.
Heavy internet usage homes
940Mbps is enough speed to support a large household with heavy internet usage including homes with 10 or more users doing simultaneous activities such as streaming 4K movies, checking social media, talking on a video conference, and gaming online.
Home office
If you have a home office, chances are you’ll be participating in a lot of video conferencing and might need to upload and download large data files from time to time. With C Spire internet, you’ll have fast download speeds, but you’ll have equally as fast upload speeds. This means you can video-conference without your face freezing every few seconds and can upload files much more quickly than with services with slower upload capabilities.
Gamers
Gamers will appreciate C Spire fiber internet’s ultra-low latency. This means zero to very low lagging and ultra-smooth gameplay.
Influencers
Do you have an influencer (or two) in the home who rely on going live, video streaming, and uploading videos on social media as part of their daily life? C Spire’s fast upload capabilities mean the influencers in your home will spend a lot less time dealing with slow upload issues or lagging and more time creating content.
Price conscious shoppers
For price conscious shoppers, at $80/month C Spire internet’s 940Mbps plan is competitive with both AT&T and Xfinity’s similar speed plan options. And you won’t have to worry about additional fees like installation costs, early contract termination fees, or data overage costs.

Does C Spire fiber internet charge data overage fees?

What others say about C Spire internet
Though it may not be one of the big three providers of internet, C Spire is certainly making a splash within the communities it serves. The following reviews of the C Spire fiber internet service give more insight into what others are saying about the 10th largest ISP in the nation.
- BBCMag recently applauded C Spire for expanding into Alabama – a state-ranked 38th in the nation for broadband access as of December 2021. In their review of C Spire fiber internet, the magazine pointed out that C Spire, “has no data caps, cancellation fees or long-term contracts [and] the C Spire division provides exact appointment times, world-class 24/7/365 customer service and over 99.99 percent reliability.”
- An independent study championed by PRNewswire in late 2020 named C Spire as Mississippi’s “fastest broadband internet service” and concluded that it was “100% faster than AT&T and 25% faster than Xfinity” – its two main competitors in the state.
- C Spire currently has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, which takes into account the company’s complaint history, years in business, transparent business practices, and more.
How does C Spire internet compare to other providers?
In a majority of the areas where C Spire fiber internet is available, the company comes up against both AT&T and Xfinity as competitors.
C Spire vs. AT&T
While an independent study conducted by PRNewswire in Mississippi determined that C Spire fiber internet is “100% faster” than AT&T. AT&T offers a variety of speed plans ranging from 300Mbps starting at $55/month to as fast as 5000Mbps (in very select areas) starting at $180/month.
The AT&T 1Gig fiber plan has the same starting cost as C Spire’s 940Mbps plan – $80/month – and also features no data caps and no long-term contract requirements, but has much slower upload speeds in comparison.
The monthly equipment fee for AT&T is $10/month compared to C Spire’s $14/month cost, but AT&T may require a $99 installation fee, while C Spire internet installation is free.
C Spire vs. Xfinity
The independent study conducted by PRNewswire in Mississippi that named C Spire as the fastest internet option in Mississippi also said that C Spire fiber is “25% faster” than Xfinity. And although Xfinity offers a wider variety of plans (ranging from 25Mbps starting at $25/month to 1200Mbps starting at $80/month), Xfinity requires a 12-month contract and has a 1.2TB data cap which means you might have to worry about early termination fees and data overage fees.
Xfinity, similar to C Spire, offers the option of providing your own compatible modem/router with your service or you can choose to use their equipment for $14/month.
