Ziply Fiber Internet Review

Ziply Fiber internet is an internet service provider (ISP) offering internet services in many western and northwest states in the United States. In 2020, these regions were purchased from Frontier Communications.

In this guide you’ll find more details about what type of internet services Ziply Fiber offers and whether or not they’re the right ISP for you.

Who is Ziply Fiber internet for?

Ziply Fiber internet is a relatively new ISP. They recently acquired regions that were purchased from Frontier Communications in 2020. At the moment, Ziply Fiber is available in select states such as Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. It offers limited coverage for now and is most widespread in the state of Oregon, but they currently serve over half a million customers in the US. If you live in a Ziply-friendly city, you may be able to take advantage of their competitively priced internet packages.

Here is a closer look at the internet plans Ziply offers and the average monthly cost:

Fiber 20/20: This is the most economical plan and comes in at just $20/month. You can get unlimited data, stream on up to four devices, and use your connection to stream television shows and chat, with download and upload speeds of up to 50Mbps.

Fiber 200/200: This is a medium-range plan that offers download and upload speeds of 200Mbps for $40/month. You can connect up to six devices, stream 4K video, game without any lag, and use chat sites without any data caps.

Fiber GIG: This is an excellent internet plan that provides 1000Mbps of upload and download speed at $60/month. You can connect all of your devices and stream 8K video and television shows, movies, and sports. This is ideal for anyone who loves gaming, too.

2 & 5 GIG: These plans start at $120/month and are intended for professionals with high internet usage demands. This is a good plan for someone who games professionally or for businesses streaming lots of content at once and using tons of devices at the same time.

Key considerations

If you’re considering trying out Ziply Fiber internet, here are a few key considerations to keep in mind.

How long is the contract price locked in?

Ziply Fiber doesn’t offer annual contracts but they do offer introductory pricing which is valid for a full 12 months. After this time, the price of your monthly plan will increase. The low price is available to new customers only and is only applicable for the first year of service.

Are there data overage charges?

Ziply does not charge overage charges as they do not have any data caps on their plans. You can enjoy unlimited access to the internet and your plan pricing will be based on the speed you choose.

Are there discounts if I bundle it with other services?

Yes, you can add a landline or streaming TV service to your bundle to save on your overall package. You can choose your services à la carte, and discounts will vary based on the price plans you choose and the number of services you subscribe to.

Does Ziply offer any other discounts?

Yes, Ziply Fiber offers several discount programs. They are part of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) which allows low-income households who qualify to obtain the internet they need at a more affordable price. They also offer low-income assistance programs for individuals who are living without the means to afford basic internet services. Ziply also offers a K-12 internet access program that allows students in disadvantaged communities to get the internet they need to keep up with their schooling regardless of their family’s financial situation.

Additionally, Ziply has a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are unhappy with your internet service after 30 days, you can get your money back.

What type of internet does Ziply offer?

Ziply offers both fiber internet and DSL internet for rural areas that do not yet have the hardware in place to obtain fiber optic internet services.

What others say about Ziply Fiber internet

  • “After a year or so of service, Ziply Fiber stands out for its low introductory rates and reasonable service terms, not to mention its rapid fiber expansion in suburban and rural areas throughout the Northwest. The provider recently became the fastest ISP in the area, offering 2 and 5-gig plans to 170,000 homes across Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.” – CNET.com
  • “Signing up for service is very straightforward through their website, or alternatively you can call them… You can download the myZiply Mobile App from the Google or Apple App stores. This gives you the ability to manage your account directly from your smartphone, including things like updating your contact information, viewing and paying bills, and contacting support.” – Whichvoip.com

How does Ziply Fiber internet compare to other providers?

Ziply Fiber can be slower than some other service providers but the price is very competitive. There are almost no other ISPs who even come close to offering as low of a monthly price. So, if you’re living in an area with limited ISP choices or happen to be in a rural area where connection speeds are slow, Ziply is likely the best choice. You will be hard-pressed to find another ISP that offers the same pricing. Even after the initial 12-month introductory pricing ends, the regular pricing is still affordable.
